TRAINER SPOTLIGHT
KIMBERLY WARD

Through my 20+ years of experience in the American Quarter Horse Association, I have earned numerous accolades in multiple disciplines. I’ve earned multiple Superior titles in Youth, Amateur and Open on multiple horses for Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Horsemanship, and Equitation. My record also includes top 11 placings at the AQHA World Show, multiple AQHA Congress Maturity and Futurity placings, Open/Youth and Amateur Congress placings, and Amateur Regional Championship titles.
Outside of my show ring, I’ve had the opportunity to train and coach riders who had Top-Ten placings at the AQHA Congress and multiple winners and top placers at the Regional and Level 1 Championship Shows.
I have had the good fortune to work for and assist talented trainers including, Pierre Briere, Mike & Amy Whitmore, Kim Myers, Chris Gray, Ray Carmean, and work with other mentors and show some great horses. I wouldn't be who I am today without them.
For a few years I've also had the opportunity to work with a talented horseman at Medieval Times and got to ride and help train some brilliant PRE stallions. I've learned so much and I appreciate the opportunity.
Back in 2012 took a break to serve my country in the U.S. Navy and was Petty Officer in Aviation Ordnance on the USS John C. Stennis. (IYAOYAS) After my service time ended, I returned to horses where my heart has always been, and to training and coaching.
Currently, I run a 20-stall training barn in Catlett, VA. I offer 12 available training stalls and only have a few currently available.
My program starts with a natural base. I like to begin with a strong dressage foundation and work up, maintaining rideability and a strong core for multiple disciplines that include the All-Around and split into more specific classes.
